No, but atheists are pretty damn certain about the non-existence of god. If the bus insists on including the word "probably" in its message, it should call itself the Agnostic Bus.

Just like the religious, atheist are not certain what they think is true. Saying there is no god is as dumb as saying there is one.

No masters degree, just common sense.

You don't know very many religious people, do you... Faith is a funny thing, and in the mind of a true believer, faith trumps all reason, and faith cannot be shaken by ANY evidence to the contrary, with perhaps the rarest of exception.

The same can be said of atheists like me... I have to have "faith" in my position, because there's no way I can be 100% dead-solid certain there is no god, yet I find the idea of gods, supernatural, etc. preposterous. I just can't prove it. All I have is my "faith," if you will. But I'm not going to get wobbly and start saying "there's probably no god" or shit like that. I'll leave that wishywashyness to the agnostics.

You know, I used to think there was no God and the world could be explained objectively, but lately I've been seeing things from a more Kantian perspective. Sometimes the dullness of our senses cannot be trusted, having faith in reason is in itself illogical. I'll choose skepticism over rationalism any day of the week (apart from Wednesdays).

I know some religious folks and they constantly doubt their faith.

Well that's obviously not a conclusion drawn from statistical data. It's just funny.

Gubment is too busy secretly putting NASA to work because of the covert space race happening at the moment.

There are many different flavors of atheism. Some atheists even claim agnostics as atheists. I'm tired of it being a dirty word.
