One of my favorite guitar tones on an album. Anyone know what kind of gear they used? I don't plan on trying to replicate it, I'm just curious.

I have no fucking idea but I wanted to post in this thread since this album rules so hard.

Is this ok?

Sure dood.

I once got close using a boss compressor before an mxr blue box cranked to the right for the fuzz(where it doesn't get all crazy) and then a Russian reissue big muff after the blue box. I forget the settings though. The amp I used was a peavey vtm120.

Haha I was actually just goofing around trying to get some good sounds and I accidently found something similar. I haven't used it for anything tho. Besides, my vtm120 needs repairs

When I saw them way back after that came out, they had HM-2s. It was way more typical-HM2-grindy sounding on the first EP and live, but I'm sure a little bit of the pedal made its way onto Solinari. That was pretty much my favorite album in high school.

I can't get into the first ep. I like cloaked in ages... I didn't at first. I thought the singer was a bit fruity, even for morgion. But it didn't take long to appreciate it. I hung out with some people in long beach way back. They knew the dood who killed himself that was in it. I don't think I was much of a fan back then because I didn't really listen. I just nodded my head cause the check was hot. She had dreads. Stoned and rambling, doods! See what you do to me?

:what:

that's the best thing they did.

Invalid Prodigy - 2:00 - 2:33 is the heaviest thing they ever done... so fucking brutal.

I prefer their demo over Solinari too. Not to discredit Solinari though, it's great, but fuck.. their earlier more Death Metal stuffs fucking kills.

solinari rules but i do prefer among majestic ruin...tone there is just as stark though it lacks that killer medieval atmosphere solinari had

heard Crimson Relic - Purgatory's Reign? fucking awesome doomy death that reminds me of Winter but better...drummer from morgion's band before he played with morgion. its seriously great...
