The fact that he got out of prison, did that weird headlining tour with that album and then...killed himself, wtf? I don't really know anything about the guy, but...shit, total madness.

Can a "collection of outtakes and sessions" be considered, though?
I think there are a lot of albums that are SO fucking terrible, but not disappointing because they had such a ghastly lead-in, such as: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_1950 (never heard it - pretty confident it blows) [OK covers, disqualified, whatever] {but still... this happened}

Then there's the category of albums that were so bad (not meant to be swansong albums) the band had to quit anyway.

True fact, however I was at least hoping for something better than that garbage... I don't think it's all that big a difference from what they were doing prior---the whole schtick just got old. I ne'er listen to that one though.

Emperor sounds like a Gay Parade after ITNE. Way to fruit it up with keyboard fanfares, Ihsahn. Prometheus was embarrassing.
