BATHORY are cult. BATHORY are a great part of metal-history. BATHORY are quite immortal. Even the tragic death of Quorthon – the legendary master of Viking/black metal – has been 6 years ago in June 2010, his spiritual and musical legacy lasts tremendous and ubiquitous. Five prominent berserks of nowadays black-metal-scene courageously decided to accede the precious heritage of Quorthon as a band and to pay endless tribute to the unholy, dignified sacrament of BATHORY. Under the banner titled TWILIGHT OF THE GODS, an unbeatable Allstar-team continues the pagan way of BATHORY in 2010:

Bad idea....
even though Alan is great with Primordial, I would be curious to hear him sing the "viking" era Bathory stuff.

Well, you'll not find more of a Bathory maniac than Alan. I'd say he'll probably do better than most.

As all Bathory stuff is extremely simple to play and easy to reproduce the most important thing in a cover band is conviction and savagery applied to the playing and authentic/viable guitar tones...well, IMO. These guys are all overkill.

The only band ever capable of fully covering Bathory was Bathory itself. This effort will help explain why.

and quorthon, being an aquarius,its like even rarer to be able to do what he did the same way,bc aquarius' r very much individualists,and his aquarius individuality made bathory. varg, another aquarius,is a good example of this. his rendition of "war" was a bathory tribute but not a cover,bc varg as an aquarius,had to like be original,and that he did,now both r considered among the greats n bm.

yes. and especially Nick Barker, I think. I haven't heard an album that wasn't made lifeless by this guy's clinical, boring drumming.
