Is posting your jams the next big thing?

Sometimes I feel like recording a proper song and posting it is pretty passe. I think a good thing for bands to do is just jam freeform and post the whole thing on the internet. Post a jam every week, once a week, collect them all...

The purest riffs come out this way. If you got any long jams on mp3 or youtube or whatever feel free to post em.

We wrote and recorded a 9 song side of a split 7" in one afternoon a couple of years ago...just over 5 min. of material by the end of it...bass player ended up so drunk that he couldn't finish his parts. It turned out better than you might imagine. Wish I could post a track or two, but...I can't.

I thought this was going to be another thread about the Iron Maiden board short and was going to brag about my collection of vintage Roadrunner/Blue Grape death metal band jams from back in they day that I wore for gym - I had Obituary, Sepultura, Suffocation...etc...

I dno't know about silly jams, but I would like to see bands release (on internet) songs as they finish them instead of saving them all up for an album. They can compile them into an album later if they want; I don't care.

I made a lame hippy jam song. There should be an upload place where we can all share them, or something.

It's when you create a riff in a jam, nuture it, and let it explore different dimensions within the other instruments. The riff lives and then it dies in heroic fashion.
