I saw them in 2000 at the height of junkie Phil.

It was kinda awful then. I can't imagine how bad it would be now.

The best part about that show was I paid a random dude $5 to smoke a joint with me. Made the rest of the day significantly more bearable.

I think I saw them at Dynamo in... 99? It was complete dogshit, and by the second song I was on my way to the tent stage to see Blind Guardian.

Charlie seems like a good choice for drums.

I wish someone other than Zakk was playing since he's a fuckin dumbshit. I would have went for the cavalcade of shredders approach.

Zakk Wylde has the same tightness that made Dimebag good, though. Those two actually have the right skill-set for Pantera. As much as they've always bored me to tears, they were always insanely tight, and it was mostly because of Dime and Vinnie.

I really can't see this sounding anything like Pantera with Zakk on guitar. Charlie's take on Vinnie's drums will be interesting but Zakk's tone is nothing like Dime's, and Phil's voice is so much deeper and different now (I watched the Down set from some recent festival on YouTube and he sounded ok but nowhere near what he sounded like in Pantera). I love how pissed off people are about this being called Pantera, though. I listened to Eddie Trunk ramble about it for 20 minutes because I'm a glutton for punishment and he was just beyond shocked that nobody told him about it and that he didn't see it coming.

Sounds more spot on than the reunion band does. Especially considering Phil could never sing TGSTK live.

I get the feeling that if you end up going to any of these Pantera reunion shows, you'll probably find yourself driving up to a State Fair where Sammy Hagar will be headlining.
