Probably Corrupted, Noothgrush, Spazz, MITB, Crossed Out, Code 13, Charles Bronson, Gasp, No Comment, Capitalist Casualties, Dystopia, Discordance Axis, Assuck whatever else I was reading about in Monkeybite, Profane Existence and Vacuum distro lists, plus Black Flag and The Misfits.......
sounds about what my mixtape would be for those years, minus the stupid Assuck of course...
I won't tolerate such backtalk of Assuck..... they are great, gotta download Anticapital sometime since I only have the LPs.......
backlash? I never liked that band, plus I have a personal grudge against those rockstars as well

Good thread. This time period coincides with when I was first getting into metal, so I was still skimming the surface with material like Pantera and Machine Head. Some death metal was starting to come through the cracks at this time though.

Machine Head - Davidian
Pantera - Regular People
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Meshuggah - Future Breed Machine
Strapping Young Lad - Oh My Fucking God
Dillinger Escape Plan - Jim Fear
Tool - Stinkfist
Morbid Angel - Dominate
Slayer - Angel of Death
In Flames - Colony

It would have been 1986-1987 so lots of hard rock, metal and thrash.

Actual mix-tape, summer 1996:

Side A:
Napalm Death - Multinational Corporations pt. I/Instinct of Survival
Anthrax - Fueled :drooly:
Infectious Grooves - Frustrated Again
Nine Inch Nails - March of the Pigs
Ozzy - See You on the Other Side
Goo Goo Dolls - Only One
Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face

Side B:
Korn - Shoots and Ladders :what:
Sex Pistols - Bodies
Napalm Death - Unchallenged Hate
Mötley Crüe - Smoke the Sky/Droppin' like Flies
Bad Religion - We're Only Gonna Die
Minor Threat - Out of Step
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Transcending

I'd say the kept/tossed away songs ratio is 50/50 with this..

94/95

Alice In Chains
Nirvana
Metallica
Jethro Tull
Rolling Stones
Ministry
Nine Inch Nails
Soundgarden
Slayer
Pantera
Sepultura
Megadeth
Prong
Anthrax
Helmet

i was introduced to music in my early teens via 90s mainstream alternative and 'popular' Beavis and Butthead and Headbanger's Ball metal. my taste was worse than yours. underground metal and indie obsession didnt kick in till 17-18.

I made a number of mixtapes back then - actual tapes (in '98, yeah srsly. Couldn't afford a CD player then and couldn't into late 2000)

Immolation
Antaeus
Ildjarn
Fimbulwinter
Celtic Frost
In Battle
Borknagar
Immortal
Setherial
Vader
Napalm Death

...and a smattering of industrial-esque shit
Frontline Assembly
KMFDM
Wumpscut

Could have sworn i just answered this thread on another board.
15 years old would look something like this (kinda odd mix):

Iron Maiden - Purgatory
Blondie - 11:59
Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Zeppelin - The Rover
Black Sabbath - Hand of Doom
Kim Wilde - Kids of America
The Doors - Not to Touch the Earth
Judas Priest - Sinner (live)

Got into hardcore/punk and shit like Metallica and Slayer when i was about 17 (1986 or 87)

Well, as you can see here, they are touring again but as a three piece, without Hanin Elias and with a new MC, Kidtronic. They have recorded one new song called Aktivate but, as far as I know, they're not planning a new album. Here is a list of their upcoming shows.

You'd have to force Alec Empire too. It seems that they had a big argument when they reunited at first because Elias needed money and now they probably won't do anything together. Still, it's Atari Teenage Riot and I never thought, after Carl's death, that they would use the name again, so maybe one day... but right now it seems very unlikely, and anyway the band was already amazing when I saw them so I don't need a fourth member onstage to bring a good show.

Well, she skipped out again, eh?
Good.
New stuff should be less annoying.
