It's one of those words that never meant anything really specific, and lost most of its meaning when it became an insult. Like "postmodern." Anyhow, you pretty much know it when you see it, and it's pretty amazing how much time people spend worrying over who is or is not a hipster.

I think Goblin will always retain the mark of high nerd, the kind that couldn't even make it into G4. All the times I've seen them poke out into mainstream culture just a tiny bit, nobody ever knows who they are.
The goblin thing they're talking about is this new mumble-rap album.
