I know I'm the last person that you would expect to go vegan, but the bay area is really getting to me and I'm considering it too! :rhug:

I haven't eaten any red meat in a week and I feel great! I think I might keep on this tack...

Necrometer wrote: also torsan mine's been creeping up for years; I think a serious (not necessarily vegan) diet change is in order... basically I have been read at 140/90 twice now, so I'm taking it seriously... post yer numbers
that's probably more due to your increased alcohol intake as of late.

hahaha, I considered that but I seriously drink very very very little, have never been hungover, have been drunk only a handful of times, etc

the increase in BP would be pretty linear over like a decade, with no spike upon adoption of BOOZIN'

I have a friend who was this total vegan straightedge guy until he got into weightlifting and started eating steak. His strength gains went through the roof and he told me he couldn't believe he didn't eat meat for so many years due to what, ultimately was a moral vanity afforded to him only through a wealthy First World lifestyle. Fucking edit this and turn this thread into a Vanessa America/neckbeard/double anal circle jerk.

stress and sodium then. eat more fruit. seriously... adopting a lesser meat diet isn't going to necessarily decrease your blood pressure when there are plenty of other current factors easily altered to help lower it.

I definitely inherited it from my dad, who's been on meds for decades

OR MAYBE HE TAUGHT ME THESE BAD HABITS

I never considered dropping meat but the fuckload of dairy fat I consume could be contributing... I don't think I eat much salt at all... eh

120/72 last time I was relaxed, but recently it was 130/79. My cholesterol was 103 / 70.

Good numbers, but I still have chronic back pain. I honestly believe that is still dietary, but not because I don't eat meat or dairy.

Ross, as far as honey goes some vegans eat it, some don't. Sweaty does eat local honey, I don't.
