Lower right hand corner looks familiar too... a bit like a certain belt... :| :|
I'd promised myself I'd stop analyzing trailers and promo shit for months leading up to major movies, but I fail every time.

Lady Jame has the most impassioned rage-on towards the prequel movies that I've ever personally known. Vitriolic hate that belongs on a Ukranian black metal recording. Won't even talk about them in a polite social context.

In the interest of keeping her viewing of the new film as pure as possible, she has so far successfully navigated through the world and the web without having seen a single bit of information about the trailers or learning a damned thing about these new characters or the plot or anything. She has no idea that the original cast members are going to be back or anything. I've seen her just start yelling and throwing her arms around when people start to discuss the shit at parties.

And here I am like a complete idiot picking apart frame by frame minutia, accidentally forming opinions and feelings ahead of time, probably spoiling the entire experience for myself...

wow, I admire her dedication

I initially hoped for a similar level of ignorance in the run-up to episode I, but once it was truly near, those characters were plastered on every reasonable surface. mainly cups: ohhhhh so many cups. so I eventually threw my hands up and just accepted that I'd have some awareness about these new characters, especially if the alternative was to die of thirst.

of course I'd be having a blast in jame-analysis mode, too. not really sure what determines whether I dig deep (avatar, pacific rim) or skip trailers (TFA, prometheus, TDK). I guess it's whether or not I expect the plot to be remotely decent/important...

Does the emperor have even more midicrapians than vader and no one was ever aware of it or is he just more attuned to the dark side to be able to shoot lighting bolts?

I guess people are lining up...?
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/09/movie ... .html?_r=1
In 2005, in anticipation of “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith,” fans started lining up at the Chinese six weeks in advance. (As it turned out, however, Fox had not booked “Revenge of the Sith” into the Chinese, so they were waiting in line for nothing; whoops.)

So, at the end of Revenge of the Sith, you see Tarkin, Vader and the Emperor looking at the early stages of the Death Star being constructed. Let's say construction lasted 2 years, tops. So my question is, are you telling me that nobody in the entire fucking universe had heard of or seen that thing in the 15-20 years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope? Everyone acts so surprised when they see the Death Star in IV. Wouldn't this gigantic base/weapon the size of a fucking planet have quite a reputation over that amount of time?

I'm sure there's a piece of fan fiction out there that involves Leah taking it up her hairy Banhta from Boba Fett. This is nothing to concern yourself over. Being that the films entitle Episodes 1 through 3 are nothing more than very expensive fan fiction, I'm pretty much not concern about the time table it took to build the goddamn Death Star. But if you really want a stupid answer to this stupid question? Fine.

Answer: The Empire told anyone that saw it that it was a new Home Depot, and the owner of this particular franchised store really liked bowling balls.

I just learned that there's a nu-canon book out covering events soon after Jedi; the book apparently sucks but I think this summary is interesting and helpful for getting my head straightened out regarding what happened right after the end of the last movie. I don't think this article has any real spoilers for VII unless you have zero clue who kylo ren is:

ALSO the premiere is tomorrow so ... beware?

I don't know why that bothered me so much, but it makes even less goddamn sense that it took 20 years to build.
