I'll give you that it could have been a lot worse. He clearly went for reverence and a frame-to-screen adaptation approach. If someone is doing that, it should not have the problems the movie ended up with. The main thing that pissed me off was the handling of Veidt. Snyder largely shot the frames (in overwrought fashion), and the few changes he made (the source of the apocalypse) were better. I'm actually surprised he didn't fuck it up worse.
