I honestly don’t like the way it is being framed by some left wing media outlets in regards to those robots. Some people are trying to make it seem like these are autonomous units. They are just oversized remote control cars with guns/bombs and a camera attached to them. This is not ED209 arbitrarily deciding it has the authority to kill you.
I can see some situations where this could actually reduce loss of life for suspects and officers.
This would remove the excuse of “I feared for my life” cops have used countless times when they mag dump into someone who was armed with a toothpick.
I can also see it being heavily abused in the other direction ( “the button malfunctioned! I totally didn’t mean to detonate that crowd of peaceful protestors with a claymore.”)
I remember one of these things being used a few years back to kill an active shooter who was refusing to surrender, instead of putting themselves in harms way the cops just rolled one of these things up to the guy and blew him up ( whether or not that level of violence was necessary in that particular situation is debatable.)
I’m imagining if the Uvalde PD had one of these machines at their disposable it’s possible a few less grade school kids would have been wasted while 50 cops were standing around for hours on end pissing their pants in terror.

I think that some technology like that is inevitable, and it's going to be the moral responsibility of the few remaining savages to destroy it.

I expect by the end of my life that organic sex and naturally resulting family units will become increasingly taboo, percieved as dangerous and unethical.
I know someone who works as an “AI trainer”
It’s a shitty $14 an hour job ( used to be $10) they ask you some real elaborate scenario you’re supposed to answer what is the better response and then give you three minutes for each question. If there’s any hope for delaying skynet is the corporations own greed.
If i got got iddqd and idkfa in real life i would immediately start walking in a straight line to California

a mom i know has idkfa on her arm on but i never looked it up or asked her. it's from doom? that's vaguely familiar but also it's strange that she has that? maybe it means something different to slightly younger people.
