book better than both films...
I think Lynch version is silly
and Villeneuve's Dune was just...empty
even though I loved his horrific version of the Sardaukar...it was...dry, empty, tuned for approval

this will sound corny but Tolkien's LOTR trilogy is a life-changing, calming narrative if you read slow and immerse yourself...a truly beautiful story
D.H. Lawrence's first novel, The White Peacock...is massively underrated, even hated, by contemporary critics...but explains humanity...I love it
same for Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South
