Ever see a show where two bands played the same song?

I saw Slough Feg a couple nights ago and they played last. Their bassist Adrian is also in a silly (but decent?) band called Hands of Goro that played second-last. Adrian plays bass and sings for Hands of Goro; he plays bass in Slough Feg and does backup vocals with the odd lead vocal turn. Adrian wrote a song called Uncanny that was on the latest Slough Feg record, with Adrian doing vocals. Uncanny has also been recorded by Hands of Goro. BOTH BANDS PLAYED THIS SONG ON THE SAME NIGHT. This is completely insane and outrageous. Was it this some sort of prank? Could this not have been avoided?

Please share comparable tales if you got 'em.

i went to see Cephalic Carnage in 2005. the openers were a pair of melodic metalcore bands whose names i don't recall. they both covered the same At The Gates song.

My band played the Teengenerate movie premier after-party and another band covered the same song we did, probably doesn’t count

yeah my old high school band got booked on the wrong show in Spartanburg, SC at a place called ground zero. The bands were sort of emo but not in touch with the underground at all, it was spring 2001 so fucking TWO of the local bands played HASH PIPE by Weezer and it sucked!

You have a point. Organizing songs written by people who don’t understand English after a week of drinking at practice and an evening of drugs is just as hard as it sounds.

M.O.D. alone played Bubble Butt 6 times during the same set as punishment to the crowd for being bored with 'em.

we used to have to play one song twice every show that our friends were at because they loved it that much. was it that good a song or our only good song? probably the latter

A band I toured with pranked us by learning, then playing the first half of one of our songs as an intro to one of theirs. I think we got them back when we opened for them at the next show, but my memory is pretty hazy.

If we are going off topic Radio Head used to pay whatever local bar band was the opening act to play "Creep" because they hated the song.

Hah if that’s true that’s pretty hilarious since I’ve never heard of anything like that done before.

The openers were probably paid in whining about being one of the biggest bands in the world and being able to make music critics cum faster than a prom night handjob.

Radiohead followed one of my friends’ bands on some euro fest bill at around the time Creep broke. He told me during their set he mooned them the whole time side stage to try to cheer them up. They were not amused.
