Good for him. Touring sucks.

I’ve never seen him or sabbath but always wanted to. Stories welcome.

There’s talk of him doing a residency in LA. If so I’ll consider a trip.

No More Tears is such a killer song.

If he's hanging it up he's earned it.

too bad Sabbath didn't re-record the first four albums with Dio.

Same. Sabbath too. He's retired what, five times or some shit? He's probably for real this time, unless Sharon decides they've dipped a few dollars below 150 million or whatever he's worth, and she makes him hobble out again.

Kinda bummed I never caught sabbath, maybe it’s sour grapes but I didn’t want to spend 3 digits on a ticket to be depressed/underwhelmed

And all this time, only now do I realize I've never looked for Dio era bootlegs where they play Ozzy era songs

I mean for fuck's sake

Closest I ever got to seeing sabbath was dio doing heaven and hell.

They were opening for maiden, following Motörhead, with Lemmy presenting a Joey ramone tribute since he had recently passed.

One of my life’s now I can die in peace moments 🍾

Wish I could have been at that show. I saw Heaven and Hell with Neurosis opening in Seattle on the only date they did on that tour. The opener on the rest of the tour was Coheed and Cambria.

I only saw Sabbath once at Ozzfest 99. They were good but even back then you couldn’t understand Ozzy when he talked. Earlier in the day Primus played and right before My Name Is Mud, Les asked the crowd if they wanted to get stoned with Slayer and had Tom Araya came out during the song and smoke a joint sitting on the drum riser. Slayer played next and it was pretty awesome.

Never saw Ozzy solo. I remember back in 86 or so he played in my old hometown and there was an article in the newspaper that something weird happened at the show but I can’t remember what it was.

He’s two years older than my dad and my dad could probably run circles around him but my dad could never handle a tour like that so I’m not sure how anyone is surprised about this.
