We have some brand new material that we're about to record for pre-production. At some point I'll upload some of the shit that Masochrism and I have recorded with Rape Whistle.

I just did this female fronted grind band called Cloud Rat last night. Just guitar, drums, and vocals. They go by Cloud Rat and are from Mt. Pleasant, MI.

The recording was done super fast, and the total was $80.

Nice guitar + snare sound, very cool...

Drums are:

421 on kick
Beta 58 on snare
Coles 4038 on overheads.

No triggers, just lots of series and parallel compression.

A gentleman by the name of Kevin helped recorded us a couple few songs. The first two are from that session.

Kevin, those Cloud Rat mp3s sound great! That band rules, too! I also didn't realize that you have 4038s, but the drums sound really nice. The snare sounds a little brighter in the second track, but I can't do a good A-B because my browser is slow as fuck.

That's not even mastered yet.

On saturday I recorded 17 bands in one day for a comp called "Fuck Detroit This Is Grand Rapids". It was all Grand Rapids, MI bands playing live in a living room.
